Landscaping, Part 1

Construction of the garage apartment decimated our back yard. It was never much to begin with, but after trenching for utilities and months under a pile of trash, we were left with bare dirt and sticker burrs.

The front beds frankly haven't been looking great, either. Years ago, we put in various flowering native plants, but being novices, we overplanted. What once was a lovely, lush landscape became unkempt.

All of it is in the midst of transformation into the yard we'd dreamed of but had never achieved on our own. Southern Landscape Solutions' crew started on Tuesday, and by the end of the day, our plants were gone.

So were the grass and weeds.

By the end of the week, the new plan by Garden Getaway Designs has started to take shape.

We're looking forward to more dramatic transformations this week, including a step in lieu of a giant hole at the base of the stairs!
