Foamy

The stud walls of the garage apartment received a generous coating of spray foam insulation this week. Closed-cell foam at the roof provides a high R value, while open-cell is adequate at the walls. The small footprint of the freestanding apartment means a lot of wall area for the amount of floor space, making the insulating qualities and resistance to air infiltration of the foam a good choice for energy efficiency.
